Role

The Veteran Employment Advisory Committee (VEAC) provides strategic advice to Government, through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and Defence, to operationalise the Working Future: The Australian Government’s White Paper on Jobs and Opportunities policy focus areas relevant to veteran and partner employment. These objectives and associated policy areas are:

Filling skills needs and building our future workforce 

  • Planning for our future workforce
  • Investing in skills, tertiary education and lifelong learning 

Overcoming barriers to employment and broadening opportunity 

  • Reducing barriers to work
  • Promoting inclusive, dynamic workplaces  


Membership of the Committee 

Member organisations are appointed by the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs. The VEAC comprises representatives from a range of organisations and industries as well as select winners of the Prime Minister’s National Veteran Employment Awards.
