Soldier On is one of Australia's leading national charities supporting veterans and their families to thrive beyond military service. Solider On delivers a fully integrated suite of evidence-based programmes that address the unique challenges of transition, trauma, and reintegration into civilian life. 

Through a HELP model of services including Health and Wellbeing, Employment, Learning, and Participation, Soldier On empowers current Defence personnel, veterans, and their families to build meaningful futures and careers. With over 13,100 participants nationally throughout the reporting period, Soldier On tailors its support and services to meet individual needs including trauma and identity-informed mental health care, career transition support, digital learning opportunities, and inclusive social connection activities.  

In 2025, Soldier On delivered more than 150 social connection events, secured hundreds of education placements and employment outcomes, and partnered with over 300 organisations through our Pledge Program.  Soldier On’s services are shaped by lived experience with many of the team being veterans or veteran family members themselves ensuring authenticity, trust, and impact. From innovative parenting therapy groups to one-on-one psychological support and award-winning national mentoring opportunities, Soldier On’s programs drive real outcomes with 90% of participants reporting reduce isolation and increased wellbeing. Backed by research, and collaboration, using a trauma and identity-informed approach to service, Soldier On is a trusted voice in national policy discussions on targeted support, mental health, and veteran family resilience. Whether in metropolitan locations or regional communities, Soldier On walks beside those who have served and their loved ones because we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive! 

Soldier On is a leading national holistic support service delivering targeted employment support for both veterans and their family members and promotes employment as a key driver of successful transition, long term purpose and economic independence.  

Over the past year, Soldier On’s tailored employment service program engaged with over 500 new participants and delivered more than 2100 individualised support sessions across metropolitan and regional Australia. Services included career coaching, resume and interview preparation, application support, and job matching with veteran friendly employers. Central to its impact has been the Soldier On Pledge program, including 300+ partner organisations committed to employing veterans and their family members. This network spans industries and has directly led to 74 confirmed employment placements this past year alone. The Soldier On team actively collaborates with and supports employers to understand Defence talent and remove barriers to recruitment and retention.  

Complementing the employment services is an award-winning program – Soldier On Mentoring, now in its fourth year. The program provides structured 18-week mentor-mentee pairings focused on career development. This program aligns participants with industry professionals resulting in 95% of participants reporting increased confidence and clarity in their employment and learning goals.  

Soldier On also addresses the unique needs of Defence and veteran partners, many of whom face disrupted career options due to postings. Flexible, online learning and employment support ensures they too have accessibility and continuity in support and care. Soldier On’s employment programs are integrated with internal wellbeing and education supports addressing the broader context of service-related transition. Soldier On leverages the internal lived-experience team in combination with trauma and identity-informed approaches to service delivery, ensuring participants receive trusted, authentic, and personalised support throughout their journey.
