The Prime Minister’s National Veteran Employment Awards recognise the achievements of Australian organisations that make significant contributions to the veteran employment community.
In 2025 a new category, Best Veteran Employment Commitment Initiative, is celebrating initiatives delivered by organisations that have joined the Veteran Employment Commitment (VEC).
What is your organisation doing that delivers excellence in employment opportunities and outcomes for veterans and partners?
It might be something you've recently implemented or perhaps an everyday practice you've simply overlooked. Here are some ways that demonstrate a commitment to veteran and partner employment.
Recruitment
- educate recruitment staff on military culture and transition experiences
- develop a veteran skills translation guide or career matrix for your organisations work
Support & retention
- appoint an executive sponsor or champion for veteran employees
- establish an internal veterans' group for support and connection
- create a veteran transition program or pathway
Leadership & public commitment
- formally evaluate your veteran employment initiatives
- publicly share your organisation's veteran employment metrics
