The Veteran Employment Program (VEP) attends a selection of ADF Member and Family Transition Seminars (Transition Seminars) each year to speak with ADF members thinking about moving to civilian employment.

Veteran Employment Commitment (VEC) members may apply to attend the seminars with VEP. VEC members accompanying VEP to Transition Seminars provide real-world examples of organisations that actively employ veterans and support them in the workplace and can inform ADF members and veterans about the types of roles available in civilian employment.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible to apply to participate at 2025 Transition Seminars, your organisation must be a member of the VEC and recognised as a Veteran Employer of Choice or Veteran Friendly Employer.

Applications closed

The application period closed on Friday 29 November 2024. Thank you to all organisations that submitted applications. All applicants will be notified of the outcome mid-late December.

Selection consideration

In addition to your organisation’s availability and location and date preferences, the below details will be considered by the VEP team when allocating participation for 2025 Transition Seminars.

  • Types, number of and quality of initiatives in place to support veteran employment
  • Any time-dependent activities your organisation delivers (eg. veteran-training programs/scholarship applications)
  • If your organisation will bring veteran, partner or family member employees to support engaging with seminar attendees
  • Industry type of your organisation (we like to promote a variety of employment opportunities)

Please note: As interest in participating in Transition Seminars is high, submitting an application does not guarantee that your organisation will be selected to participate in 2025.
