Belynda Abbott is an accomplished nurse leader, educator and innovator with over 24 years of distinguished service across clinical, operational, governance and academic domains within the Australian healthcare system. Her career spans diverse settings in the Northern Territory and Queensland, where she has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in nursing practice and leadership.

Currently serving as a Nurse Lecturer at the University of Canberra, Belynda is dedicated to shaping the future of nursing through education, mentorship and advocacy. She is a published author and international presenter, recognised for her contributions to nursing education and leadership development. As a Fellow and former Board Director of the Australian College of Nursing (ACN), Belynda has played a pivotal role in advancing the nursing profession nationally.

Belynda is a Global Nurse Leadership Institute (GNLI) scholar with the International Council of Nurses. Her GNLI Western Pacific Region team is leading a regional initiative focused on mitigating heat-related illness among vulnerable populations—demonstrating her commitment to Planetary Health and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

In addition to her academic and leadership roles, Belynda is a certified Life and Success Coach, empowering healthcare professionals to pursue their purpose and thrive in their careers. She is also a proud Australian Defence wife of over 20 years, bringing a unique perspective of resilience, adaptability and service to her professional and personal life.
