After a successful government executive career, Christine Gilchrist met and later married Ken. She moved with him when he was posted to Melbourne and then Brisbane. Christine then left federal government and spent two years in the private sector as an executive recruiter (recruiting CEOs, Board Members and C-Suite roles in government (local, state and federal), Not for Profit and commercial roles. While successful at this, Christine wanted to help other defence spouses, as she saw and experienced herself how tough it was for them.
Christine had always had challenges getting good scribes who understood government recruiting, so she started a business to provide this service. She trained spouses who could work from home. This meant they could retain their jobs regardless of where they were posted. Spouses enjoyed this model and the ability to choose which jobs they do/don’t do.
Spouse Force has provided skills development and over 5,400 hours of remote work to defence and veteran spouses since commencing in April 2023.
