Retired Colonel Lindsay Morton AM brings 30 years of ADF service and a further 14 years in the Defence industry to his current role as Project Director, Defence Clothing Services.
His military career spanned operational deployments to the Iran–Iraq border, Kuwait, and Afghanistan, culminating in his final posting as Deputy Chief of Staff, Headquarters Joint Task Force 633 in the Middle East, for which he received a Chief of Defence Force Commendation. As Acting Director General Supply Chain at Joint Logistics Command, he managed a $216 million budget and more than 800 personnel across Australia's national logistics network. Lindsay was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2007.
In 2014, Lindsay joined Ventia's predecessor organisation, expanding his portfolio with every contract cycle. He now leads 350 personnel across 32 sites nationally, delivering the new Defence Clothing Services contract. This industry-first end-to-end fleet management solution marks a significant milestone. Lindsay's ability to translate his Defence experience into solutions for customer challenges and commercial success was instrumental in securing the initial seven-year contract, with options extending to 20 years.
Lindsay is proof that the skills forged in uniform continue to deliver long after service ends. Lindsay applies the skills developed through 30 years of ADF service to Ventia's Defence business, bringing strategic leadership, logistics, risk management, workforce welfare and executive-level engagement.
The most telling measure of Lindsay’s impact on Ventia's culture is the retention of veterans. Lindsay’s commitment to ensuring veterans feel understood at Ventia has played a meaningful role in creating this environment.
Lindsay is the rare veteran who has translated decades of service into both commercial and cultural outcomes at scale. This award is fitting recognition of a veteran whose contribution has only grown since leaving the ADF, building a legacy of service, community and capability that will outlast any single contract.
