Taylor Cowell is a Delivery Lead in the defence industry at Saab Australia, where he oversees supporting elements of the broader Hunter Class Frigate Program.
He joined the Australian Army at 18 and served with the newly established 7th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment in South Australia. During his service, Taylor deployed to Afghanistan as part of the Advisor Task Force – 1, gaining operational experience across several provinces.
Following his military service, Taylor returned to work in Afghanistan in operations management, leading a large multinational workforce at the Australian Embassy in Kabul. After returning to Australia, he completed a Bachelor of Project Management at the University of Adelaide, graduating as Valedictorian. While studying, he worked in project-focused roles in government, consulting and the defence industry.
Taylor is a passionate advocate for the veteran community, serving as Deputy Chair of the South Australian Veterans’ Advisory Council and Chair of Saab Australia’s Veteran Advisory Committee. He also founded the University of Adelaide's first student veteran organisation. As a Westpac Future Leaders Scholar, and Andrew Russell Veteran Living Program Ambassador, Taylor is committed to building resilient and inclusive ecosystems that support transitioning defence personnel.
